This course introduces you to the history of photography as seen through the eyes of two of its pioneers, George Eastman and Ansel Adams. It also acquaints the student to the working of the camera through photo assignments involving depth of field, light, landscape study and the photo essay. A pre-requisite for this course is access to a 35mm camera with adjustable settings. A throw-away or self-focusing camera will not work.

*CREDIT: Semester hours of non-degree Professional Development Credit is offered through LMU. Students meeting course syllabus requirements earn a grade on their transcript of CR (credit). Students not meeting requirements earn a grade of NC (no credit). Professional Development Credit is not applicable toward any undergraduate or graduate degree at Loyola Marymount University. Courses are designed for student with baccalaureate degrees and appropriate teaching credentials. Course credit may be used for some professional advancement requirements, such as salary movement and recertification credits.
