Dealing with Death on Campus

Description

Too often these days, schools of all grade levels are having to deal with death – accidental or intentional – on campus. This course is designed to help the teacher, school administrator and the student cope with this upsetting reality. It provides ideas on how to help the grieving student, guidelines for the administrator, and counseling tips for teens. A plan on how to handle the problem in his or her school will be developed by the participant as part of the course requirements.

Course Type

These are non-classroom based, self-directed, independent study courses. You will use texts, DVDs, CDs, audio/video tapes, or other materials and you will return your assignments by mail. The cost of the materials is included in the tuition and the materials are yours to keep at the conclusion of the course. You may earn between one and four semester hours of credit for each Traditional Course depending on the course you choose.
