Steinbeck's Salinas

Description

Salinas, California is the town where John Steinbeck, author of Grapes of Wrath, Cannery Row, and other novels, was born and grew up. Visit the house of his birth with its gourmet lunchroom and cellar of artifacts, the Steinbeck Library where he researched East of Eden, and view more than 30,000 items including first editions. Access to CD’s of interviews with his boyhood friends, original manuscripts, and a trip to Cannery Row, the setting of one of his most beloved novels, are included.

Course Type

These are non-classroom based, self-directed, independent study courses. You will use texts, DVDs, CDs, audio/video tapes, or other materials and you will return your assignments by mail. The cost of the materials is included in the tuition and the materials are yours to keep at the conclusion of the course. You may earn between one and four semester hours of credit for each Traditional Course depending on the course you choose.
