The American governance system is dynamic – always changing, always controversial. Teaching the basic concepts and keeping current with the latest developments on the political scene is a challenge. This course provides Internet links to a variety of information resources on how the government works and instructional strategies to assist students to understand the process. Through websites, newsgroups and list servers, build your own lesson plans to meet your students’ learning level and informational needs.

Course Type

A huge library of information is available on the Internet for you to use to research and develop curriculum, but you may find it intimidating or too complicated to become comfortable with this valuable resource tool. These courses have two objectives: to help you learn the various research tools step-by-step from the basics so you become a proficient Internet researcher on any topic, and to explore and discover educationally useful information on the topic you chose to apply to your role as teacher, counselor, or administrator. All courses in this series are three semester hours and available as “On-Line” or “E-Courses.” All materials needed for the course are provided and your instructor is available daily by email or phone.

• All coursework assignments will be received electronically.
• It is recommended the first time you enroll in an Internet resource course, you enroll with all materials which includes an all-inclusive Internet resource reference book. Thereafter, enroll in worksheets only.
• This course must be completed within one year from the date of enrollment.
