- Historically
based but profoundly influenced by current events, this course is
centered in Manhattan where you will personally experience a range
of New York City’s influential sites including Ground Zero,
St. Paul’s Chapel, the NY Stock Exchange Building, Museum of
American Financial History, Museum of the City of New York, New York
Police Museum and take a walking/photo tour in the Wall Street/Financial
District and The Battery Park. The one-credit portion includes a related
text, research projects, an article and essay which contributes insight
to your already meaningful trip to the Big Apple. There are no on-site
visits in the one-credit portion, and it may be taken separately.
If you enroll in 3 or 4 credits, on-site visits in the New York City
area will be required.

*CREDIT:
Semester hours of non-degree Professional Development Credit
is offered through LMU. Students meeting course syllabus requirements
earn a grade on their transcript of CR (credit). Students not meeting
requirements earn a grade of NC (no credit). Professional Development
Credit is not applicable toward any undergraduate or graduate degree
at Loyola Marymount University. Courses are designed for student with
baccalaureate degrees and appropriate teaching credentials. Course credit
may be used for some professional advancement requirements, such as
salary movement and recertification credits. Check with your school
district regarding course eligibility for credit under standard requirements
for independent study, as tuition is non-refundable. |
