This course traces the whimsical and sometimes hilarious history of the art colony of Carmel, California from the days of a dirt main street and abalone beach parties to the modern, chic destination vacation spot for tourists. Participants will learn why the houses have no street numbers and why there still is no mail delivery, as well as learn about the many famous people who have worked and played there.

*CREDIT: Semester hours of non-degree Professional Development Credit is offered through LMU. Students meeting course syllabus requirements earn a grade on their transcript of CR (credit). Students not meeting requirements earn a grade of NC (no credit). Professional Development Credit is not applicable toward any undergraduate or graduate degree at Loyola Marymount University.
