This course encompasses the early European women of the Frontier and the American Indian women and their ordeals and contributions. Thought is given to the plights and hardships as well as the ideals and morals of those times. Also, a final project invites students to compare their life today with the lives of pioneers and addresses both a man's and woman's view of those comparisons.

*CREDIT: Semester hours of non-degree Professional Development Credit is offered through LMU. Students meeting course syllabus requirements earn a grade on their transcript of CR (credit). Students not meeting requirements earn a grade of NC (no credit). Professional Development Credit is not applicable toward any undergraduate or graduate degree at Loyola Marymount University.
