The Native American Indian legacy is enormous. More than 250 tribes who spoke more than a thousand different dialects inhabited North America. This course is designed to offer a series of challenging subjects regarding the American Indian, and to help the educator better understand the rich, exciting and poignant history of America's first inhabitants.

*CREDIT: Semester hours of non-degree Professional Development Credit is offered through LMU. Students meeting course syllabus requirements earn a grade on their transcript of CR (credit). Students not meeting requirements earn a grade of NC (no credit). Professional Development Credit is not applicable toward any undergraduate or graduate degree at Loyola Marymount University. Courses are designed for student with baccalaureate degrees and appropriate teaching credentials. Course credit may be used for some professional advancement requirements, such as salary movement and recertification credits.
