This course is designed to give the teacher an insightful look at the History of Slavery in America. The course delves into a typical day in the life of a slave from the time they were removed from Africa through their harrowing passage to their daily routine on Southern plantations. Included is a book with a detailed accounting of the life of a free man from New York state who was kidnapped and sold as a slave in Louisiana and how he retained his humanity through those twelve years until he regained his freedom
