We know much about the battles, the generals and the horrific losses on both sides of the Civil War conflict; but this course, built around some little known facts, covers acts of kindness between North and South soldiers, the role of the Black soldier in the Union Army, Lincoln’s treatment of court martial sentences in issuing pardons, and the Canadian involvement.
