910 What happens when
a star dies? How do you explain the astronomical distances encountered
upon examination of our universe? The farthest galaxy we have discovered
is 11.4 BILLION light years away. If light travels at 186,000 miles
per second, how far is ultimate space? Exciting books and other materials
contained in this course attempt to answer these questions, or maybe
add to them. In all respects, however, it creates fascinating study
and countless opportunities to stimulate classroom discussions
*CREDIT: Semester hours of non-degree Professional Development Credit is offered through LMU. Students meeting course syllabus requirements earn a grade on their transcript of CR (credit). Students not meeting requirements earn a grade of NC (no credit). Professional Development Credit is not applicable toward any undergraduate or graduate degree at Loyola Marymount University. Courses are designed for student with baccalaureate degrees and appropriate teaching credentials. Course credit may be used for some professional advancement requirements, such as salary movement and recertification credits.
