Monterey's rich maritime history is explored, from its whaling industry and the harvest of abalone by the Japanese, to the present unparalleled aquarium on Cannery Row. Visits to Point Lobos, the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History and other sites are included.

*CREDIT: Semester hours of non-degree Professional Development Credit is offered through LMU. Students meeting course syllabus requirements earn a grade on their transcript of CR (credit). Students not meeting requirements earn a grade of NC (no credit). Professional Development Credit is not applicable toward any undergraduate or graduate degree at Loyola Marymount University. Courses are designed for student with baccalaureate degrees and appropriate teaching credentials.
