Learn about five centuries of cowboy life including some delightful cowboy tales and campfire stories told in books, and an interview with one of the last cowboys in Southern California. This course is designed to take a realistic look at the role of the cowboy in the settlement of the West, what his job and influence really was, and what it has become.

*CREDIT: Semester hours of non-degree Professional Development Credit is offered through LMU. Students meeting course syllabus requirements earn a grade on their transcript of CR (credit). Students not meeting requirements earn a grade of NC (no credit). Professional Development Credit is not applicable toward any undergraduate or graduate degree at Loyola Marymount University. Courses are designed for student with baccalaureate degrees and appropriate teaching credentials. Course credit may be used for some professional advancement requirements, such as salary movement and recertification credits.
