Prepared with the assistance of local law enforcement agencies and health authorities, this course acquaints the teacher with various illegal drugs of choice today, behavior of users and psychological and physiological effects of usage. Included are programs adopted by various school districts to help deal with the drug problem.

*CREDIT: Semester hours of non-degree Professional Development Credit is offered through LMU. Students meeting course syllabus requirements earn a grade on their transcript of CR (credit). Students not meeting requirements earn a grade of NC (no credit). Professional Development Credit is not applicable toward any undergraduate or graduate degree at Loyola Marymount University. Courses are designed for student with baccalaureate degrees and appropriate teaching credentials. Course credit may be used for some professional advancement requirements, such as salary movement and recertification credits.
