Designed to introduce women to weight training and to dispel some of the myths that surround it, this course will acquaint women with various lifting techniques and benefits. The course also addresses the value of proper nutrition to help reshape the body. Included is a taped interview with famed womens' fitness expert, Leon Skeie, in which he gives important tips on getting started and avoiding injury.

*CREDIT: Semester hours of non-degree Professional Development Credit is offered through LMU. Students meeting course syllabus requirements earn a grade on their transcript of CR (credit). Students not meeting requirements earn a grade of NC (no credit). Professional Development Credit is not applicable toward any undergraduate or graduate degree at Loyola Marymount University. Courses are designed for student with baccalaureate degrees and appropriate teaching credentials. Course credit may be used for some professional advancement requirements, such as salary movement and recertification credits.
